Mission

 

The strategic decision to specialise in the areas of error correction coding, watermarking, wireless communications and mobile networks has  led to increased international collaborations and the quality of our research. Specifically we will advance research on new combinations of modulation and error correcting coding with emphasis on bandwidth and power efficiency  in wireless systems to achieve performance gains well beyond the current state of the art. The significant collaborations with leading US universities and chip companies will lead to high quality publications and research contracts.

An important part of our strategy for the future is knowledge exploitation. For example, eight recent patents, two filed in the USA and six in the UK are being offered to industry for licensing to provide a revenue stream and a source for new industrial applications for coding, wireless communications and watermarking.
