Carrie Headlam
Carrie has worked within the Centre for Teaching Mathematics since 2000, when she joined the team as a part-time research student. She completed her MPhil in 2004 and has now joined the Centre as a full-time member of the teaching staff. Carrie teaches in the School of Mathematics and Statistics and she is also the coordinator of the Mathematics Pathway of the PGCE course in the School of Education.
Carrie completed her first degree in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Exeter and went on to gain her PGCE in Secondary Mathematics Teaching. She has worked for many years as a Mathematics teacher in secondary schools in and around Plymouth and she is a GCSE moderator and examiner.
Carrie’s research interests focus on the use of graphics calculators in the teaching and learning of Mathematics, particularly at Key Stage 3.
