Suki Honey

photo of Suki HoneySuki graduated from University College, Cardiff with an honours degree in Mathematics, went on to do a PGCE at Keele University, and became a fully-fledged teacher in 1987. Her teaching career began at Tring School, which was terribly posh. Three years later she moved to Cardiff and taught at the notoriously challenging (but great fun) Willows High School and Cantonian High School. She moved to Plymouth, and worked for four years at Notre Dame RC School.

Whilst working at Notre Dame she completed her Masters degree, through the Open University.

Suki is now working as a visiting lecturer for Exeter University and The College of St. Mark and St. John, as well as teaching part time at Devonport High School for Girls.

Suki’s main interest is in the use of graphics calculators as tools for teaching and learning mathematics especially the use made by pre-service and new teachers. Part of her current research project is to develop an understanding of graphics calculators in mathematics classrooms, and she is canvassing data from schools across the country.
