Brown University is a private Ivy League research university in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded in 1764 as "The College in the English Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations," Brown is the seventh oldest institution of higher education in the United States and one of the nine Colonial Colleges established before the American Revolution. Brown's main campus is located in the College Hill Historic District in the city of Providence, the second largest city in New England. By Air

For information regarding air travel to Providence, please view the following websites: www.pvdairport.com/ or www.massport.com/logan/default.aspx Transportation from TF Green airport to campus: The Brown University campus is located about 10 miles from the TF Green Airport. One-way taxi fare is approximately $35. The most economical transportation is the Airport Taxi & Limousine Service Shuttle which costs $11 one way. Shuttles leave every hour on the hour from TF Green and are available from 5:00am until midnight. Tickets can be purchased on the lower level of the airport near the exit. Detailed schedule and route information can be found at: www.airporttaxiri.com/schedule/index.html Transportation from Boston's Logan airport to campus: From Logan International Airport, take the Peter Pan Bus, 800-343-9999, to Providence ($22 one way or $40 round trip). Buses run almost hourly (on the half-hour) and circulate throughout the terminal area. The Bus will drop you off at Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence. From there, you can either take a cab directly to the Brown campus or to your hotel (the Biltmore is right across the street). Detailed fare and schedules can be found here: www.peterpanbus.com.

By Bus

PeterPan and Greyhound bus lines provide service to Providence from many cities throughout the New England region. The bus station is located in Providence downtown (Kennedy Plaza). For schedules and fares, please visit either www.peterpanbus.com or greyhound.com/home.asp.

By Train

Providence is on the Northeast Corridor Amtrak train route. The train station is located in the center of downtown Providence. It is a brief walk or taxi ride to the Biltmore and Brown campus.
