Lifting the tower crane's jib into position.

Assembly of the second tower crane was completed today - here you can see the jib being lifted into position using a 300 tonne capacity mobile crane which came down from Bristol for the day.

The second tower crane is taller than the first one; it also has a higher lift capacity and a greater reach.

Steel sections on site for the first time.

The first elements of the steel framework for Block C were delivered to site today. The main shear frame which weighed some 18 tonnes was too heavy to be lifted by either of the site's tower cranes; a mobile crane was used instead.
