Portland Square - 20th September 2001.
Building A:

Latest view of Building A.

The frame for Building A is progressing well - steelwork for the first two storeys is almost complete.

Buildings B and C:

Building B in the foreground; Building C behind.

Almost all of the precast concrete floor beams are in position on the first two floors of Buildings B and C. Work has now started on erecting the next two floors of steelwork for Building C.

Building C:

Bracing for Building C.

Although much of the lateral stiffness in each building is provided by a central shear frame there is other diagonal bracing to be found - here's a typical example of how the stiffness is being provided.

Site Visit:

Site visit by HND/BSc1 Civil Engineering students.

The site was visited today by a group of our first year HND/BSc Civil Engineering students. The students were shown around the site by Armando - one of our MEng/BEng students who's working on the site during his optional Industrial Placement year.
