The groundworks for Building A at the southern end of the site are nearing completion; erection of this building's frame is due to start towards the end of next week.

Building B:

Shear frame for Building B - about to start the lift.

The steel frame for Building B started to arrive on site yesterday - you can see here that a few columns and beams have already been erected. The main shear frame for this building was delivered to site in two sections which were then bolted together. This photograph shows the finished component (which weighed in at 23 tonnes) about to be lifted into position.

The first stage of the lift got the shear frame into a vertical orientation.

The first stage of the lift got the shear frame into a vertical orientation.

Shear frame in its final position.

The next stage saw the shear frame being gradually manoeuvred into position; then it was simply a case of lowering it onto the prepared foundations. The final stage of the operation saw other elements of the building's steel skeleton being erected to prop the shear frame; the crane could then be unhitched.

Squash Courts:

The Squash Courts building's precast concrete first floor has been installed and work has now started on the building's walls.

The new Squash Courts building is rapidly taking shape. The precast concrete first floor has been installed (although it hasn't been screeded yet) and work has now started on the building's walls.
