Plymouth and its surroundings.

If you are looking for somewhere to study, why not go where you can enjoy yourself - Recreation and leisure is an important balance to work.

Dartmoor is only a few miles from Plymouth giving you 365 square miles to play around in, hiking, biking, climbing, pony trekking or just visiting the pubs.

Devon and Cornwall has a long, superb coastline (including the "English Riviera") that provides unparalleled opportunities for surfing, windsurfing, sailing, swimming and sunbathing.

The University's Students' Union organises bands and discos and has around 120 clubs and societies, including the obvious and the less obvious (the Rock and Real Ale Society, Juggling Club, Conservation Volunteers and the Overseas Students Society). If it does not already exist, then start it !

The University is in the heart of the pedestrianised city centre. The Elizabethan Barbican area provides a backcloth to the pubs, clubs and wine bars. This is a popular place to enjoy yourself, by day or night. Within easy walking distance is one of the South West's largest Entertainment Centres, housing a multi-screen Cinema complex, a 10 pin bowling alley, a fitness club and several night clubs, pubs and restaurants.

The Pavilions provides a large entertainment complex for anything from bands to snooker tournaments. The Theatre Royal stages many productions that subsequently move to the West End, or which started in the West End, as well as performances by the Royal Shakespeare Company, opera and ballet.

There are cinemas, night clubs and bistros. The night life is lively.

Whatever your style, Plymouth has something to offer !
