Virtual site visits for students

Two of the School's Environmental Building lecturers have begun to utilise some innovative photographic techniques to supplement site visits. Steve Goodhew and Richard Dawe are using virtual reality (VR) panoramas and 360o photographs to illustrate recent visits to sites in Plymouth and Saltash.

Steve Goodhew - Ebington Street project.

Richard Dawe - Kernow Gate, Saltash.

The starting point for each of the images is a sequence of 18 digital photographs; QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) technology from Apple Computers is then used to combine the images into an immersive experience.
