Plymstock Cement Works

Plymstock Cement Works - on the way down. Click to view a movie - then please be patient while the file downloads.

After dominating the skyline of Plymouth for many years, the main tower of the Plymstock Cement works was demolished today - with a bit of a bang.

If you'd like to view a short QuickTime movie of the tower's last seconds, click once on the image above.

Note: The movie file is about 1.6 Mb - please allow time for the file to download. This could take several minutes, depending on the speed of your connection to the WWW - until the file has downloaded it might appear that nothing is happening - please be patient. You'll also need to have Apple's QuickTime viewer to watch the movie - click the icon below to link to Apple's downloads page if needed.
