Introduction
I am an academic member of staff working with the Environmental Building Programme team at the School of Civil & Structural Engineering, University of Plymouth. As a Chartered Building Surveyor, I have worked in both industry and academia, starting in private practice in London before 'changing direction' towards academic life and the bright lights of the North!. I am also a member of the SLICE Project team at the University of Plymouth, helping to encourage improvements in staff awareness, utilisation and evaluation of Student-centred Learning In Construction Education.
Teaching
Building Surveying fields of experience are numerous, including maintenance, building re-use/design, professional practice and the application of surveying and research skills. In particular, I will be involved with student project work and am interested in employing Student-centred approaches to learning.
