Introduction
1990: BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering.

1990 - 93: Assistant Engineer, National Rivers Authority.

1993 - date: Senior Lecturer, School of Civil & Structural Engineering, University of Plymouth.

Teaching
Hydraulics, Engineering Hydrology, Coastal Engineering, River Engineering, Environmental Engineering (including Public Health Engineering), Engineering Analysis.
Research
Hydraulics, particularly environmental implications of river engineering works (eg on hydraulic behaviour, geomorphology, etc).

Applications of evolutionary computing to hydrological modelling.

Sustainable river engineering - river restoration and rehabilitation using 'soft' engineering techniques.

A grant application to EPSRC in collaboration with the University's Department of Geographical Sciences & Department of Biological Sciences and the Environmental Agency of English Nature is in progress.

PhD registration pending.
