Participants submit only extended abstracts, up to 4 pages, to be distributed
as an Abstract Book at the workshop. Participants are invited to submit
an extended papers after the workshop for publication in a special issue
of Biosystems (Elsevier).
This procedure allows discussions and latest results to be reflected
in the publication.
Contents and abstract of previous special issues can be found at following links:
Participants and invited to submit a full paper describing and extending their contribution to the workshop for a special issue of Biosystems - Journal of Biological and Information Processing Science (Elsevier). All manuscripts will be refereed by a review board created for this purpose.JOURNAL AIMS :
BioSystems encourages experimental, computational, and theoretical articles that link biology, evolutionary thinking, and the information processing sciences. The link areas form a circle that encompasses the fundamental nature of biological information processing, computational modeling of complex biological systems, evolutionary models of computation, the application of biological principles to the design of novel computing systems, and the use of biomolecular materials to synthesize artificial systems that capture essential principles of natural biological information processing. Its audience consists of biomathematicians, cyberneticians, mathematical modellers, zoologists, molecular and cellular biologists, biochemists, researchers in molecular and cellular evolution, pre-biotic systems, origins of life.PRESENTATION OF THE MANUSCRIPT:
The manuscript should not exceed 8 printed journal pages. This corresponds to a main text (not including title and abstract) of less than 5000 words. This limit includes space used by figures and references. The width of a figure is one column (7.5 cm) or two columns (15.5 cm). A two column-wide figure with a height of 10 cm is equivalent to 350 words. One reference is equivalent to 21 words. Authors are requested to indicate the number of words in their text (excluding references) and the equivalent number of words used by figures. The abstract should not exceed 200 words. A list of 3-6 keywords (or short phrases) necessary for correct indexing and subsequent retrieval must be submitted with the manuscript. Other guidelines are found on the web site of Elsevier: http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/biosystemsTIMETABLE:
