We all need dreams and dreamers.

The Wright brothers dreamt of conquering the air, and in 1903 they made the first successful powered flight in an aeroplane. By 1969, Concorde was cruising at 1350 mph, but even before that the jet aeroplane had made the world a small place. Just how small and fragile the Earth really is became apparent in the 1960's when man ventured into space and photographed it against the dark curtain of infinity.

This shows us all, that dreams can, and do, come true.

History also tells us that we must use technology wisely for the benefit of all humanity. We need a new generation of technically educated men and women to develop a sustainable future and each of us can contribute a little.

As a National leader in technological research we hope that the 2500 students who are studying here with us on courses in Engineering, Computing, Maths and Statistics and the Built Environment are realising their potential and turning their dreams into reality.

We hope you find this site both useful and informative and wish you every success for your future.
