If you already own a boat, windsurfer, jet-ski or something similar, all the above have facilities for you to launch and clean them. Once launched, you will find a safe(ish) area in the Plymouth Sound. If you require the challenge of sailing a little further you might like to try sailing along the South West coast. Or you could try the River Tamar - when the tide is in!
With its nautical history , Plymouth makes and ideal place to host a marine event, indeed many races have either started or finished here. Recently the sailing hero Pete Goss sailed his boat back into the Queen Anne's Battery marina to the delight of the many thosands of people that lined the Hoe and foreshore to greet him.
