Jenny graduated from Polytechnic South West (later to become the University of Plymouth) in 1991 with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Studies. She stayed at the University studying for her PhD in Applied Mathematics (Non linear systems). Jenny joined the Centre in 1995 to coordinate the rapidly expanding Mathematics Enrichment Programme. When the Centre became involved in the T3 (Teachers Teaching with Technology) she became the Training Course coordinator as well.

Research Interests

Jenny's main research interest is in using hand-held technology to enhance learning and understanding. She also has research interests in the teaching and learning of mathematics. Details of published research papers can be found here: publications

Teaching

Jenny is module leader for the Mathematics with Education Module: Professional Experience in Education. Students are placed in a school (either secondary or primary) for one morning a week where they observe, learn and then usually get involved in some aspect of the mathematics classroom.
