2. Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course should have an understanding and basic competence in some common manufacturing processes.

3. Syllabus
Use of machine tools to carry out basic operations: milling machine, drilling machine and lathe.
Use of welding equipment: MIG, arc welding and oxy-acetylene welding.
Programming and use of CNC milling machine.
Dismantling and rebuilding an automobile engine (eg: Honda, Ford, Jaguar, Rover).
The students manufacture an article (eg a three leg puller) as part of this work.

4. Assessment
Assessed by attendance and by the quality of the work carried out. Assessment is as pass or fail without any further grading.
