Composites Design and Manufacture (BEng) - MATS 324
Examples of how to cite the references in your reports.

The School of Engineering Online Documentation includes Notes for Report Writing by David Grieve.  For final year projects, the definitive documents are the BEng Honours Project Handbook by Ming Dai and the BSc Honours Project Handbook by Jeff Barlow.  The required format for Student Projects is the Harvard Referencing system which is comprehensively described in Ian Nicholson in Harvard Referencing 3rd Edition (v.3.00).

For the books which I have edited, I suggested that the chapter authors might adopt the following formats, albeit that the books used numbered references.  Although there may appear to be some redundant information in these formats, there is also an insurance against typing errors (and/or poor photocopies) corrupting the information to the extent that the item is irretrievable.  Only the information in the right-hand column is needed (the left-hand column is simply for explanation).
