Engineering Statistics - STAT 353

1. Introduction
Extensive notes, worked examples, tutorial questions and outline solutions have been supplied by Dr Graham Crocker. These have been split into sections and are available as (large) .pdf files. As these files are big and down loading time via a modem link will be somewhat lengthy, students can have a copy of these on CD - ask David Grieve. For students working via a fast link (or patient students!) the links are below. The files of tutorial questions and all but three of the solution files are much smaller.

2. Software
Some of the tutorial problems and course work will require the use of the statistical software package 'Minitab'. Student editions of this are available from the library on the Plymouth campus, or contact D Grieve. You should install a copy of this on your computer.

3. Assessment
This module is assessed by a combination of course work and end of unit test. The end of unit test will probably be held at your Partner College, early in December - the date and time will be published as soon as it is finalised - it is vital that you attend for this test at the stated time.
The weighting will be 70% end of unit test and 30% assignment - this will probably be an essay requiring some research.

The module leader is Dr Alex Kovner, tel: 01752 232744, e mail: A.Kovner@plym.ac.uk
