A one day workshop: 2 September 2010
Outlook on Personal and Service Robotics
Personal and Service Robotics is a growing market.
Are we ready to contribute to it and benefit from it?
Format
Until 1.20pm, you will be attending the final ½ day of TAROS’2010, the Conference on Autonomous Robotics (31 August – 2 September, Plymouth, UK), with a presentation programme tuned to industrial interests, as part of a special session on Personal and Service Robotics.
After 1.20pm the programme is purely industrial, for which interested academics can register. You will have the opportunity to give a short presentation on your company’s skills and strengths. A discussion and Q&A session will follow to elaborate skills and market development scenarios. Several breaks will enable informal contacts.

Your contribution
You have the opportunity to give a 5-10 min presentation, including question time, to present the key skills and strength of your company and, if possible, what skills you would like to have in 5 years. The audience is made of the other industry representatives and of registered participants from the academic conference.
Poster space and limited exhibition space is available for the workshop day or for the duration of the conference. Please contact taros2010@plymouth.ac.uk for details.
Benefits
The plenary talk in the morning will update you on the state of the market, research and funding opportunities in personal and service robotics.
Your current skills may be needed by another company and contacts and exchanges can be initiated during the tea breaks.
As for your long term needs, you may form synergetic contacts and may secure support from academic members of the audience.
The debate will help clarify where the market of service and personal robots is developing and how your company can contribute to the growth of this market.
Who is this workshop for?
Does your company contribute, or has the potential to contribute, to the supply chain of personal and service robotic manufacturing, from hardware to software?
