The Sixth International Conference on the Evolution of Language (Evolang6) was held in Rome on 12-15 April 2006. The conference will take place at the Centro Congressi (Conference Centre) of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, via Salaria 113 (Map).
The conference will include
substantive contributions relating to the evolution of human language from any
relevant discipline, including Anthropology, Genetics, Population Biology,
Linguistics, Neuroscience, Psychology, Primatology, Ethology, Paleontology,
Archeology, Artificial Life, Mathematical Modelling. All accepted papers and
abstracts have been published in a proceedings volume
edited by A. Cangelosi, A. Smith and K. Smith (World Scientific Publishing).
After the conference, some papers will be selected for an extended submission
to the journals Mind
& Society (guest edited by A. Cangelosi) and Interaction
Studies (one yearly issue of Interaction Studies is dedicated to Evolution
of Communication, and is edited by Jim Hurford).
